Fed: Shun Wah to work on new SBS Movie Show

SYDNEY, April 21 AAP - Broadcaster and producer Annette Shun Wah has been announced
series producer of the new series of the SBS Movie Show following the departure of hosts
Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton.

In a statement, SBS said Shun Wah would be the creative engine behind the new format
of the program, working with executive producer Larry Meltzer to select new presenters.

"I'm thrilled to be asked to work on The Movie Show," Shun Wah said.

"It will be exciting challenge taking the show into a new era with a contemporary feel
and fresh perspectives."

Pomeranz and Stratton announced their shock departure from the SBS earlier this month.

After nearly 20 years with the show, the film reviewers will join the ABC with a new
program - At The Movies.

SBS head of television Shaun Brown said Shun Wah's enthusiasm and experience made her
an ideal candidate.

"The departure of Margaret and David has presented us with an opportunity to freshen
up one of SBS's signature programs, the first makeover in the show's 17 year history,"

he said.

"With her broadcasting and popular culture experience, Annette is the perfect producer
to give the program new life."

The final Movie Show with Pomeranz and Stratton is to be broadcast on May 12.
