NSW:Police not interested in politics of Ryan's departure:Ball
New South Wales Police Association president IAN BALL says outgoing Police CommissionerPETER RYAN has done a good job repairing the image of the service since coming to thejob six years ago.
He says most police are not interested in the politics behind Mr RYAN's departure.
But he says the association is heartened by Premier BOB CARR'S comments that Mr RYAN'Sreplacement will be from within the ranks of the local police service.
However, he won't speculate on who he thinks should fill Mr RYAN'S shoes.
Commissioner RYAN's announced he will quit his post next week, a year before his contractis due to expire.
The nation's second highest paid public servant - whose pay is estimated at $425,000a year - will leave on April 17, pocketing a year's salary.
